Cicely Covington - Program Specialist/ID Mild (High School, OCS) 910-484-3391
The Occupational Course of Study (OCS) is one of 4 courses of studies available on the high school level that, upon successful completion, results in the student’s receiving a North Carolina diploma. Selection of the OCS is dependent upon the student’s having an IEP and an IEP team decision for OCS. The transition goal for the student must be a work related goal, not post-secondary training. The OCS student must meet course requirements, 3 types of work- hour requirements (in-school, out-of-school and paid) and have completed a Career Portfolio as well as his/her IEP objectives. The number of course requirements for graduation varies according to the High School he/she attends.
