Douglas Byrd High School

  • Words of Inspiration from Graduation:
“Today, you stand at the crossroads of a significant milestone, poised between your past achievements and the boundless possibilities of your future. As we celebrate your graduation, we are not just marking the end of an academic journey; we are also embracing the beginning of a lifetime filled with choices.”
    - Kenneth Williams, Principal

“So as we take this time, reflect and say our farewells to the people we have spent time with, whether it was laughing or crying, experiencing the excitement of a special or stressful event and all of the other feelings that come with being a high school student, remember to stay in the moment for as long as you can.”
    - Diana Hernandez, Valedictorian

“It's in times like these, however, that I remember what my grandmother would always tell me whenever I came to her about a problem of mine. She said, “Nothing lasts forever.” Initially, the meaning of this fell deaf on my ears, but time has long since revealed the truth and wisdom in her words.”
    - Amarius Strange, Salutatorian
