Parent Cafés are physically and emotionally safe spaces where parents can talk about the victories and challenges of raising a family. Conversations are based upon the five protective factors that help strengthen families: (1) parental resilience; (2) social connections; (3) knowledge of parenting and child development; (4) concrete support in times of need; and (5) social and emotional competence of children. Parent Cafés are designed to engage parents in meaningful conversations that affirm parents as leaders. The Intro to the Parent Café provides an overview of the Be Strong Families Parent Café process, examples of discussion topics that empower parents to strengthen their families, and information on how to join or host a Parent Café.
