Cumberland Family Academy Session: Motivating the Unmotivated Child
Studies have shown that by the 3rd grade, students have already decided whether they are going to complete high school or not. Sadly, the dropout rate for students is increasing; therefore, many students are deciding early that they have no desire to finish high school. A big contributor to this is a lack of motivation. We, as parents and educators, can work together to help motivate our students. In this workshop, we will discuss ways parents can help motivate their student(s) and the importance of a parent/educator relationship in this process.
