NCIES offers a variety of clubs and activities with your student in mind!
Every club is designed to have students learn through creative, innovative and fun ways that will easily transfer to the classroom and their future. While most clubs meet after school, we do offer some activities that are during school hours. Have the students be on the lookout for when these clubs start!

Art Club

Art club is for those who like being creative and artistic. The students will do a project to be displayed in the hallways of our school. Art Club applications are taken at the beginning of each new session. Time and Date TBD.

Battle of the Books
Coach: Lorraine Schneider
Meets: Varies
Battle of the Books is a competition for students in grades four and five who love to read. The competition resembles a book-based Jeopardy. The students read fifteen books and become experts on their contents. During competition, students win points for their ability to recall intricate details of the books. It is an exciting opportunity for book-lovers to compete in a fun environment and to build friendships with other like-minded students.

Club USA is a club for our students who have an active duty parent in the military. During their meetings they discuss deployments, moving schools, and any hardships faced during the stressful times of being a military child. The club meets to provide support for the members.

Junior Beta Club
Advisor: Brandilynn Picciano and Betsy Frey
Meets: To be announcedJunior Beta Club is a national leadership club for fourth and fifth grade students. Students are invited to be members of the club if they have demonstrated exemplary behavior in school and have met high academic standards. The students participate in service projects to give back to the community.

Calling all 5th graders who are interested in learning to play the violin, the base, or other string instruments. The middle school orchestra teacher comes to the school during the school day to provide some basic instruction to get you started.

Panda Boys Club

Meets: TBDOur purpose is to help young males in grades 3-5th develop into young gentlemen by providing direction and opportunity to become knowledgeable citizens in today's society. The Panda Boys Club is a privilege and as such students will follow the rules and guidelines in the contract provided. These young men will be held to a higher standard than their peers, other students as well as other clubs in NCIES.

Our fifth grade student leaders help with a variety of tasks around the school. These students are chosen each nine weeks because of their independent nature and leadership in class. They assist in arrival, dismissal, award ceremonies and special occasions.

Science Olympiad
Head Coach: Elizabeth Frey

Science Olympiad is a hands-on science competition for students in grades third, fourth and fifth. To prepare for the event, team members work together to build rockets, construct ramps, build egg drop devices, and other fun STEM activities. The annual countywide competition gives team members the opportunity to compete against students from other schools.

STEM for Girls

NCIES and Girl Scouts are partnering to provide STEM for Girls, an introduction to science and engineering concepts while tapping into the girls' creativity and problem solving skills.

Student Council

Meets: Every other FridayStudent council is a group of students that represent the student body. They help make decision within the school and perform several community service projects. It is open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.

Yearbook Club

The yearbook club gives students experience in publishing, media, and computer design, to enhance their creativity. During the school year, students will take pictures. These pictures will highlight our events, clubs, activities, and special days here at NCIES. The deadline will have to be met and thus providing skills that will be used throughout school, college, and life.
