“Celebrating 50 Years: Honoring the Past - Educating the Future”
-
It is an exciting time for the South View High School (SVHS) Tigers as the school turns 50! SVHS announces its 50th-Year Anniversary and is planning several events to commemorate this milestone during the 2022-2023 school year.
When SVHS opened in 1972, students were welcomed to a brand new high school in Hope Mills, NC. This year, the school will honor the past and continue its rich tradition of educating students to be capable, confident and ready for life after graduation.
SVHS is calling for all of its illustrious alumni from the past 50 years, especially the Class of 1973, to join the many festivities that will take place throughout the upcoming school year.
The kick-off event is the “Back to School - 50th-Year Parade” on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. The parade will begin at Hope Mills Middle School, progress onto Legion Road and end in the SVHS parking lot off of Elk Road. The celebration will continue with the “Gathering of the Tigers,” featuring music, food, fun and the dedication of the new Spirit Rock. SVHS administrators and students invite all alumni and the entire Hope Mills community to join in on the celebration and support the school.
Future events, including a Tiger Alumni Day, will be posted here on the SVHS website. For more information, contact the SVHS 50th-Year Committee Chair at 910-425-8181
