Future Educators Program Application Period Extended
During the 2017-2018 school year, the Board of Education approved the formation of the Future Educators Program in Cumberland County Schools (CCS). The Future Educators Program is a recruitment initiative aimed at developing CCS’ internal student talent.

Thousands of CCS Employees Receive COVID-19 Vaccine
To date, more than 3,500 Cumberland County Schools (CCS) employees have received the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Currently, CCS has more than 6,000 full-time employees and nearly 2,000 staff members serving as part-time employees, substitute teachers, contractors and student teachers.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services' StrongSchools NC Toolkit requires public schools to conduct a COVID-19 symptom screening and temperature check of any person entering a school building.
