Jack Britt High School Students Shine at Special Forces Exhibit Opening

May 16, 2024

Cumberland County Schools is pleased to announce the successful opening of the "Celebrating the History of Detachment 'A' in Berlin" exhibit at the Airborne and Special Operations Museum. The exhibit was curated with the assistance of students from Jack Britt High School.

Focusing on the covert operations of Special Forces Detachment Berlin during the Cold War, the exhibit was a result of extensive research and collaboration between the students, educators and museum staff. The opening was well attended by community members, veterans and former Special Forces members.

The exhibit highlights the district's strong ties to military history and provides an educational look at an important aspect of Cold War operations. It will remain open for public viewing, continuing to serve as an educational resource.

Participants in this year's internship program included seniors Carson Grant, Christopher Officer and Roman Ricotta, and juniors Maura Lake, Elizabeth Patton and Audrey Suh, guided by Faculty Advisor Stephen Clabaugh and Volunteer Advisor Steven Abernathy.
