The Academy of Agriculture and Natural Sciences (AANS) works in partnership with Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) and Sampson Community College (SCC) to prepare students for a rewarding career in an agriculture-related field. Students may choose a pathway from the areas of Biotechnology, Animal Science, Agriculture Mechanics, Horticulture, or Environmental/Natural Resources. Students in the Horticulture program have the opportunity to earn up to 12 hours of credit toward an associate degree from FTCC and are able to attend courses at Sampson County Community College via teleconferencing.

Academy students graduate ready to join the workforce through professional certification in Hunter Safety, Beef Quality Assurance, Pork Quality Assurance, and FAMACHA (sheep and goats). Starting salaries in these fields begin as high a $40,000 per year.
