  • Student Council Student Council

    Student Council members are representatives of the student body. The Student Council enables you to hear your own opinions and your peers' opinions. The Student Council teaches you how to develop your voice, leadership, social, and confidence skills. You will develop skills that will help you not only in high school but throughout your life. 

    The CIECHS Student Council is a member of the North Carolina Association of Student Councils.


    Arabic Club Arabic Club
    Adviser:  Rana Nasser 
    Membership: 9th-12th-grade students
    Dues:  $20.00
    Meeting Dates:  2nd and 4th Thursday of each month

    The Arabic Club is designed to allow students to develop their knowledge of different Arabic-speaking countries and cultures. Members of the club are going to learn Arabic dances, Arabic singing, Arabic food, Arabic Architecture, Arabic Traditional Dresses, and Arabic Arts including Calligraphy and mosaic.

    Membership:  10th - 12th grade with a GPA of 3.5, 90%, or equivalent across all Arabic courses and must have a current GPA of 3.0, 85%, or equivalent across all courses.

    Qatar Foundation International enhances the experience of students studying Arabic and celebrates their achievements through its Arabic Honor Society (AHS) program. QFI fosters student engagement in Arabic studies at the secondary level, as well as supports students who aim to continue their language studies.


    Speech & Debate Speech and Debate

    Membership: 9th-12-grade students.
    Dues:  $30.00 
    Meeting Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays during the competition season.   

    The Speech and Debate Team is a competitive team.  The team attends tournaments all over North Carolina and the United States.


    Global Girls Global Girls
    Advisers:  Christel Early
    Membership:  9th-12th grade female students 
    Dues:  $25.00
    Meeting Dates: 2nd and 4th Thursdays each month

    Global Girls is an organization that seeks to improve the quality of life of young women at CIECHS by increasing leadership skills and promoting the importance of education and community service. They focus on building character, integrity, and self-worth.


    International Club International Club
    Advisers: Leonardo Romero Fonseca and Ivone Rozo
    Membership: 9th-12th-grade students, in good academic standings

    Meeting Dates:  2nd and 4th Thursday each month

    International Club will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about different countries from around the world. Members will learn dances from other cultures and how to sing in other languages.  There will also be opportunities to participate in activities advancing the knowledge of other countries.

     The Internationally Known Men of Cumberland International Early College High School is designed to identify and achieve the goals of each male participant.  Internationally Known Men helps men prepare for the future.  They are taught how to enter the post-graduate world and become globally competitive.  Young men will gain enrichment from academic support to social awareness.  Through this process, participants will build character and leadership.

    The Key Club is a student-led organization whose goal is to encourage leadership through servicing others. Key Club International is a part of the Kiwanis International family of service-leadership programs.


    Spanish Honor Society Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica ~ Los Embajadores (Spanish National Honor Society)
    Advisers:  Leonardo Romero Fonseca and Ivone Rozo
    Membership: Students enrolled in Spanish 2 or higher with a GPA of 3.5 in Spanish.
    Dues:  $25.00 
    Meeting Dates:  Wednesdays, once a month

    The Spanish National Honor Society recognizes outstanding high school students who are studying Spanish and promotes a continuity of interest in Spanish. 


     National Honor Society National Honor Society

    Membership: 10th-12th-grade students with a 4.0 GPA
    Dues:  $25.00 
    Meeting Dates:  2nd Tuesday of the month

    The National Honor Society (NHS) recognizes outstanding high school students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

     


    Science Olympiad Science Olympiad 
    Advisers:  Raylene Latham
    Membership: 9th-10th-grade students interested in STEM; at least a 3.0 GPA
    Dues:  $35.00
    Meeting Dates:  Wednesday afternoons; competitions at FTCC.

    North Carolina Science Olympiad is a competitive club.  The tournaments are rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of different hands-on interactive, challenging, and inquiry-based events.  While being a part of the Science Olympiad, you will learn to be well-balanced between the various disciplines of biology, earth science, environmental science, chemistry, physics, engineering, and technology.

     


    Yearbook Yearbook

    Membership:  Reliable 9th-12th-grade students
    Dues:  none
    Meeting Dates: Every Tuesday each month

    The yearbook staff is by application and interview only. Students wishing to participate in the creation of the yearbook must have access to the internet and a computer at home. Students must also be able to attend meetings after school once or twice a month.

    Membership: 9th-12th-grade students, who can participate and attend Youth Council Meetings

    Meeting Dates:  1st and 3rd Mondays each month

    The Fayetteville-Cumberland Youth Council’s (FCYC) mission is to serve as a voice for the youth in a youth-led organization, focusing on the betterment and promotion of our community.  FCYC serves as a cross-generational link and participates in service projects and social events to promote character-building and leadership development.  Students are nominated to represent  Cumberland International Early College High School.
