Admission Requirements 

General Information

Students residing outside of the Terry Sanford district must also fill out a CCS Choice Program application. Thank you for your interest in the School of Global Studies at Terry Sanford High School for the 2024-2025 school year. Students seeking admission to The School of Global Studies must submit a completed online application which includes the following requirements:

• Completed application

• Most recent ELA/Math test scores

• Most recent report card

• Two completed essays in response to the prompts in the application (Student's voice is encouraged when completing these.)

Students who reside OUT-OF-DISTRICT:

All students who live outside of the Terry Sanford High School district must apply through CCS School of Choice Click HERE to access more information. Students from all attendance areas may apply. The School of Global Studies does not discriminate against any student due to their sex, race, religion, or national origin. Open only to 9^th graders with some 10^th graders considered; no 11^th or 12th graders are admitted as new students into the program.  Applications for the 2024-2025 school year must be submitted electronically no later than February 1, 2024, for all out-of-district students. 

Students who reside IN-DISTRICT:

The application window for students who currently live in the Terry Sanford district will be open from January 2024 to February 2024. All applications for in-district students must be submitted by March 1, 2024. The annual program fee of $125 will be due when students are notified of their acceptance.  (A form requesting a fee waiver is available.) Click Here for the in-district application.

If you have missed the deadline for the in-district application window, there will be a second window open from May 6th to May 17th.  This is for students zoned to attend Terry Sanford High School ONLY!
