    GENERAL INFORMATION

    Cumberland County Schools’ (CCS) Choice Program application window is open for select programs and grade level. The district is reopening the application window to consider additional applicants for programs with available space.
     
    Parents and families can consider the following schools and programs during the upcoming application window:
     
    School Name (Grade Level Accepted):
    • Montclair Elementary School (Kindergarten Only) - 50/50 Immersion Program (Spanish)
    • William H. Owen Elementary School (Kindergarten Only) - Language Immersion (Spanish)
     
    The upcoming application window will remain open until August 1, 2022, to allow time for processing and notification prior to the start of the 2022-2023 school year.

    Cumberland County Schools is proud to offer a variety of Choice Programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. Choice Programs are uniquely themed concepts implemented at select schools throughout the district. You can exercise your power of choice within CCS by learning more about the Choice Programs available to students and selecting a program that best matches your child's interests and future goals.

If you have questions regarding the status of your application or student assignment process, contact the CCS’ Student Assignment Office at 910-678-2616.     Once a parent/legal custodian makes the commitment to enroll a student in a Choice Program, the parent/legal custodian will not be able to transfer the student to another school during the school year. Exceptions to this policy must be requested in writing to the Student Assignment Office and approved by the Board of Education.

  • Who is eligible to apply?

    Any student who currently resides in Cumberland County or who will reside in Cumberland County is eligible to apply.

  • Can a student apply to more than one program?

    Families can apply to more than one Choice Program based upon a student’s interests and goals.

  • How are students selected?

    Students must meet eligibility requirements determined by each school. A randomized lottery is conducted to select students for programs in which there are more applicants than there are available seats.

  • Is transportation provided?

    Posted by:

    Parents must provide transportation to and from Choice Programs. There is limited transportation provided for some schools. You should contact the school to determine if transportation is available for your home address.
