Parentally Placed Private School Children with Disabilities

Consultation is a mandatory process that includes the LEA, private school representatives, and guardians.
Consultation must be in timely and meaningful.
LEA where the private school is located is responsible for conducting the Child Find.
LEA is responsible for locating, identifying, and evaluating all children with disabilities enrolled by their parents.
Child Find process must be completed in a time period comparable to that for students attending public schools in the LEA.
Parent consent is needed to release of information between LEAs.
LEA must provide equitable participation in the services funded with Federal B funds.
LEA makes final determination about the services to be provided to eligible parentally placed private school children with disabilities.For further information contact the Case Teacher at your assigned school.
